Summer has nearly come and gone. Our seniors have had several great activities to enjoy during the warm weather. Recently, they attended the Washington County Senior Day and participated in a parachuting activity for fitness. Take a look at some of the great information and photos from these events!
On August 28th, the Appalachian Independence Center, District Three Senior Services, Washington County DSS, and Caris Healthcare sponsored the 5th Annual Washington County Senior Day. The event was held at the Abingdon Farmers Market. Guests received information on local resources, free lunch, and enjoyed music and prizes. Representatives of BRHA were present to distribute information on housing programs and resources available through the EnVision Center. Some of our senior tenants attended and enjoyed the festivities! We would like to thank the sponsors for allowing us to participate and show our support to all the partners who made the event possible, and our community.

Everyone really enjoyed this new fitness challenge. Parachuting was a great way to give their upper bodies a work out. Next month, the senior group will venture out to a local pumpkin patch to start off the fall season. Stay tuned for details on that upcoming event.
