The Gift of an Orange
Oranges have long symbolized health and prosperity. In the U.S. receiving an orange in your Christmas stocking became a tradition during the Great Depression. Oranges were considered a luxury. They provide much-needed vitamin D and remind us of warmer days to come. The gift of an orange serves to show us how special we are.
At the BRHA this is our most cherished holiday tradition; started by now-retired Executive Director, Dave Baldwin. Lisa Porter, our current Executive Director continues this tradition to celebrate the BRHA team and to honor Mr. Baldwin.
