Housing Chief

The Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority is looking to fill an open position for Housing Chief. This person will be responsible for the oversight, development, and supervision of the housing programs offered by the Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority. BRHA manages public housing units, a housing choice voucher program, LIHTC units, and market properties. The successful candidate for this position will oversee a small staff and be responsible for the management of tenant applications, waiting list, placements, tenant management, policy enforcement, evections, and all other issues relating to placement, management, and removal of tenants in BRHA owned properties.

The Housing Chief must have significant experience in public housing and a thorough knowledge of HUD policies and regulations. This person must also be familiar with LIHTC properties, mixed finance, and HUD’s Move to Work program. Experience with supervision is also a requirement of this position. Along with the necessary knowledge and experience to perform the job duties, this person must be able to always respond with compassion and empathy in dealing with the public and our residents. The Housing Chief will be directly involved in some of our more demanding situations and must always be able to perform their duties with professionalism and dignity, representing the Housing Authority with the highest degree of respect for all people.

Maintenance Mechanic

The Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority is looking to fill one of its most essential positions, Maintenance Mechanic. This person provides key services to ensure our residents live in safe and comfortable residential units. Numerous skills will be required to fulfill the job duties demanded by this position including, but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock repair, painting, and other duties necessary for maintaining rental properties. Any type of basic household maintenance in multi-family residential units will be part of the job duties for this position. This role will also include the maintenance of basic household appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, water heaters and HVAC units. Preventative maintenance, repair, and replacement of the mechanical systems associated with multi-unit housing complexes will be the core duties of this position.

The job requires you to be on a scheduled on-call rotation where you may be called out after hours for emergency repairs. This position will also require a high degree of strong customer service as you will be working directly with our residents representing the Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority with professionalism and courtesy. The successful candidate for this position will have a wide range of basic mechanical knowledge in the construction and home maintenance fields.

Laborer

The Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority is looking to fill a critical entry level position, Laborer. This person provides key services to ensure our residents live in safe and comfortable residential units. This is an entry level position with a wide range of job duties. This is not a glamorous job. The position involves a lot of the grunt work necessary to make a Housing Authority function. Many of the job duties will include things like taking out the trash, cleaning vacated residential units, low level maintenance tasks, groundskeeping, cleaning restrooms, assisting in preventative maintenance duties, and numerous other similar responsibilities. This is a great opportunity to get started on the ground level of a great organization and have a positive influence in our community.
