Bristol Redevelopment & Housing Authority (BRHA) Executive Director Dave Baldwin has announced his retirement effective December 31, 2017. Baldwin was hired as BRHA’s director in June 2003, becoming its sixth executive director since BRHA was created in 1938.
“I’ve been working in the affordable housing industry for over 40 years; the time seems right for me to move on to the next chapter in life,” Baldwin stated. “BRHA is in a good place; we are providing much needed affordable housing in our community effectively and efficiently; we are making significant progress in our Master Plan for the restructuring of our public housing portfolio; we are providing residents with the opportunities they need to move towards self-sufficiency. It’s a great time for someone to step in and expand this positive momentum.”
BRHA’s Board of Commissioners has begun the process of seeking a new Executive Director. Working with The Summit Companies of Bristol TN, a national recruitment effort was initiated on June 16, 2017. More information about the position opening can be found on BRHA’s website at http://www.brha.com/news-information/job-listings/ .
