Beyond Housing continues to stay busy moving our development projects ahead. We anticipate breaking ground for Goodson Hills next month. As a reminder, this development will consist of 23 townhomes (all 3 bedroom) that will be located on Mary Street where we previously demolished 26 public housing units in 2018-19. We are also making progress on Morning Meadows which will be located on Moore Street just behind the old Virginia Intermont campus. This development will consist of approximately 8 buildings with 16 duplex units that will house those who are homeless, at-risk of being homeless, or victioms of domestic violence. Supportive services will be provided in partnership with People, Inc.
We are also looking at our public housing properties for opportunities to modernize and/or replace. Currently, our Mosby courtyard units are undergoing extensive renovation to include drain line replacement, new flooring, bathroom fixtures, paint, lighting, and other upgrades. It’s an exciting time at Beyond Housing!
