BRHA celebrated National Night Out on August 6th this year, and we had a blast! Thank you to the many first responders who joined us, including the Bristol Sheriff’s Office, the Bristol VA Police Department, and the Bristol VA Fire Department. We were also happy to have our Board Chair Josh Fleenor and Board Member Kathi Boatright join us! Other visitors included Delegate Israel O’Quinn, Mayor Becky Nave, Vice-Mayor Jake Holmes, City Councilman Michael Pollard, and Bristol TN Councilwoman Margaret Feierabend. Thank you to our many community partners who had booths and provided services and to our sponsors!
What is National Night Out (NNO)? It is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. NNO enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Our National Night Out was a large community block party! The entire community was invited! We had free food, bounce houses, prizes, lawn twister, corn hole, great music, mini golf, free school hair cuts, a tricycle race, a doughnut eating contest, resource information, and free goodies, all enjoyed with our local police and first responders.
