Following the retirement of Dr. Gary Poulton, it is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Ms. Kathi Boatright to the BRHA Board of Commissioners. Her background in development and project management will make Ms. Boatright a true asset to our team.
Kathi Boatright has nearly 20 years of experience in grant writing, project development, and project management. Kathi joined the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) in 2016 as a Community Development Specialist. In 2022, she became the Program Manager for DHCD’s Abingdon Field Office. In this role, she supervises four employees to ensure the effective, efficient, and compliant investment of public funds for infrastructure, single-family housing rehabilitation, and economic development projects in Southwest Virginia. Prior to DHCD, she assisted nonprofits, colleges and universities, and a planning district commission in various development roles. Boatright received her B. A. in Mass Communications and Geography from Emory & Henry College, and her M.S. in Geography from The University of Southern Mississippi. She has received several awards and certifications including, the Grant Professional Certification and DHCD’s 2023 Leadership Award. She enjoys running, hiking, reading, baking, and having dance parties in the kitchen with her husband and two children.
