Summer comes with lots of benefits to our health. This can include vitamin D, less stress, healthier seasonal menus, and unintentional exercise. Our senior group is already reaping the benefits. Without knowing, they did plenty of exercising, while tending to our raised garden beds. BRHA is incredibly grateful for the donation of plants from Thomas Hollow Nursery that made this project possible. The group also took part in a Bingo-cize class facilitated by District-Three. As our senior/disabled group grows in participation, we look forward to offering more opportunities for new experiences.
Tenants planted cucumbers, squash, watermelon, eggplant, a variety of peppers, okra, cantaloupe and a variety of tomatoes in our raised beds. The harvest should be beautiful and bountiful!
