Housing professionals from across the Commonwealth gathered to attend valuable sessions geared toward housing management, community development, professional development and leadership/commissioner training. Sessions included updates from Washington and HUD, housing laws, HOTMA, FSS, gang violence, NSPIRE/REAC, mental health, first aid and trauma-informed care, among others.
Matthew Heckles, Regional Administrator for HUD Region 3, spoke about his visit to Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority last October. He shared thoughts on the importance of organizations working together and used the Little Ten as an example of the success that is possible when organizations with the same goal work together.
BRHA staff members Camilia McNew and Anna Danilova were excited to also attend the VAHCDO Scholarship Luncheon, where scholarship recipients were recognized for their achievements.
