Tenants can now enjoy gardening with our new raised flower beds at Jones Manor and Stant Hall. The raised flower beds were purchased with funds awarded by the City of Bristol, VA from the Community Development and Block Grant Program (CDBG). The City provides CDBG funds for sub-recipients to achieve several goals which are essential to the overall objective of improving the living conditions in the City. The planters were filled with peppers, several types of tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, celery, kale, spinach, cantaloupe and herbs. All the plants were donated by Joe Thomas, the owner of Thomas Hollow Nursery. We are so grateful for his generosity and encourage you to support his local business. We are excited to see the tenants caring for the plants and enjoying the produce that is harvested! Flowers from the nursery were also given to Mosby residents who used them for individual flower pots.
