The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials’ (NAHRO) annual Washington Conference was virtual this year as were the advocacy meetings held with federal legislators. Bristol Redevelopment and Housing Authority was proud to be part of the Virginia group that met virtually with staff for Senators Kaine and Warner and the local housers who met with Congressman Griffith and his staff member JR Walker. Housing is a necessity for all of us, and our representatives are always willing to listen to our concerns and learn more about the need for additional affordable and workforce housing in our communities, the importance of having landlords to participate in our rental assistance programs, and the need to plan for housing with economic development.
