BRHA was a stop on Santa’s journey during this past Christmas season. We are blessed with community partners who share with our residents all through-out the year. Programs are offered throughout the year that help our residents in many ways. Community programs and partners share their services with our residents. Christmas provides an opportunity to celebrate the relationships that have been formed with the various programs/partners as well as with each other.
The Communities in Schools program sponsored Breakfast with Santa on December 14. Families with children at Washington-Lee Elementary School were able to come and collect their Santa Pal gifts as well as food boxes for the holiday. This high energy event kicked off the Christmas season for many of BRHA’s families.
While the families were here and enjoying their breakfast and fun, Census workers were here as well sharing employment opportunities with our families. The Census is currently hiring workers to complete the 2020 survey that will officially begin in April. This is an excellent employment opportunity for many. Please call Resident Services at 276-821-6270 for more information.
The CHIP program held their annual Christmas Parenting group at our Resident Services Building on December 17. Santa made a stop and shared gifts with the children. This was a great time for parents to share with each other while their children played and celebrated the season.
Santa also made a stop at the Gathering Place on December 21. Santa and his elves gave out gifts for children. They also provided a spaghetti dinner for all who attended. This event was sponsored by Sacred Ink Tattoo and Bridge of Hope. This was the third annual event held at the Gathering Place by our friends from Sacred Ink. This event has grown each year and has become a highlight for our residents.
2020 promises to be another super year for the residents of BRHA. For more information about the services offered here at BRHA as well as information about community partners, please call Residents Services at 276-821-6270 for more information.
