Lisa Porter, BRHA Executive Director, attended a workshop, ARS (Acquire, Renovate, Sell), in Abingdon, Virginia recently. The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) have partnered to offer ARS (Acquire, Renovate, Sell). We plan to apply to participate.
This is a collaborative program through the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA). Under the ARS program, Grantees will acquire the homes, renovate the homes with ARS funding and then resell the homes at fair market value. The goal of this program is to transform previously undervalued homes into community assets and create new homeownership opportunities for low- and moderate-income, first-time homebuyers.
