On May 5 the Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) released its Preliminary Rankings under the 2015 Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program. BRHA’s project, The Village at Oakview, “made the cut,” being among five local housing authority projects proposed for funding in this year’s tax credit allocation. The next two weeks are a comment/rebuttal period for applicants to comment on or dispute their preliminary rankings. VHDA will announce final rankings on May 29. In the meantime BRHA has made significant progress in preparing the site for future construction. All buildings have been demolished and final grading of the site is in progress. This is an important project for the future of affordable housing in the Bristol community and for the revitalization of the Virginia Hill Neighborhood. Keep your fingers crossed!
