Apartment buildings at The Village at Oakview are now ready for occupancy! We are accepting rental applications for The Village at Oakview at the BRHA Administrative Office, located at 809 Edmond Street, Bristol, Virginia from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Construction of new apartments at The Village at Oakview is now Complete! Located in the 400 block of Oakview Avenue, these 48 units provide additional affordable rental housing for families in Bristol. Twelve buildings, each with four units – two on the first floor and two on the second – provide “platinum level” energy efficient, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom apartments. Each building has one access point – a common entrance door with an interior foyer – then separate apartment entrances from this foyer. This garden apartment style means that half of the units will be ground floor apartments, and half will be second floor “walk-ups,” accessible via a stairway in the foyer.
The primary source of funding for development of The Village at Oakview was the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) program. In accordance with LIHTC regulations units will be targeted to families earning 40%-60% of the Area Median Income (about $20,000-$30,000 for a family of four; limits vary by family size). Rents will range from $361 – $663 per month depending on bedroom size and family income. Families with Housing Choice Vouchers will also be considered for apartments.
