Elderly - Disabled Residents
BRHA's Elderly / Disabled Services
FIND A WAY PLUS PROGRAM

The Find Away Plus Program coordinates the needs of residents who are elderly of disabled by matching their needs with the available services, community agencies, and resources in the surrounding areas.
We provide residents a monthly calendar of upcoming events at the Housing Authority, in the community, and articles on topics that pertain to enhancing their life skills. Staff works closely with the Property Managers on needs and problems of Residents and jointly plan programs that are beneficial to the residents. The Service Coordinator is also available to assist the Resident Organizations to obtain the goals they set.
If we can be of service to you, or if you have questions, please contact Diana Farris, Elderly Service Coordinator at (276) 821-6269, or stop by my office located in the Stant Hall Apartments Resident Lounge at 325 Edmond Street, Suite 3, Bristol, VA 24201.
Gift Eat Learn Program
Virginia Cooperative Extension - Smart Choices Nutrition Education Program
BRHA has partnered with Virginia Cooperative Extension – Smart Choices Nutrition Education Program to help Residents make healthier food choices and be more effective consumers. Juli Ontaneda, Program Assistant, started coming once a month to help the Residents at Stant Hall and Jones Manor become more aware of food choices. We have had a wonderful time learning many things such as there is more fiber in Brand Flakes and Cheerios than other cereals. She also has shown gifts to make such as Chocolate Peppermint Coffee for a Christmas gift and a beautiful fruit wreath that is edible and adds charming grace to your table. Both men and women come to this program to learn to eat healthier and have a good time.
Call Diana Farris, Resident Service Coordinator for the time and date of the next meeting: 276-821-6269.
