BRHA Awarded FSS Program Grant

We are pleased to report that BRHA has been awarded a 2017 Family Self-Sufficiency Grant from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). For over 10 years, we have been successful in securing this grant that allows BRHA to employ an FSS Service Coordinator who works directly with residents to connect them with programs and services that already exist in the community. These funds have allowed BRHA to offer our Find-A-Way FSS (Family Self-Sufficiency) Program to scores of residents over the past 11 years. On average 30-35 residents are participating in the program during any given month. Seven former public housing families have purchased homes as a result of their participation in the program.
