After two years of effort BRHA is pleased to announce that construction has begun on our new affordable housing complex, The Village at Oakview. This new development will create 48 new apartments in twelve buildings on the former Bonham Circle public housing site in the 400 block of Oakview Avenue. The Village at Oakview will offer 2- and 3-bedroom apartments in a “walk-up” style construction (24 units on the first floor level and 24 on the second level). All ground floor units will have barrier-free entries; five units will be fully accessible for barrier-free living.

“After three different applications to HUD, and securing multiple funding sources, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, we are glad to actually see something coming out of the ground.”
Construction will be done in a phased approach with some buildings becoming available for occupancy potentially by early next summer. Stay tuned as more information becomes available regarding when we will begin taking leasing applications.
